The EMS, consisting of physicians and  student members, is dedicated to  educating and advocating for the patients  and physicians of Essex. The Society also  releases various medical journals, such as  Prescribing Governance. These journals  cover different aspects of healthcare and  aim to enhance the knowledge of those in  the healthcare field.

EMS also delivers continuing medical education for health  care professionals throughout Essex,  running various education programs for  physicians and health care professionals
